    Gas can is Not userfriendly.
The pro is that I have over 5 of the 5 gallon gas cans and they are holding up well, no leaks, good expansion between hot and cold weather climate, price point was great and they are easy to handle. Cons are there is no small vent hole with cap closure in the top back of the plastic can to allow for air flow that makes pouring smooth. Next is the spout. The spout should have a flexible tube on the end to allow for a gradual lifting of the gas can while you pour the gas. This type of flexible spout would be really helpful when gasing up a car or truck. The way the spout is designed makes this task a 10 with 1 being easy and 10 being most difficult. Also the trigger mechanism in your spout does not work properly. When I leaned the can forward and activated the spring mechanism on the fuel spout, no gas came out. I purchased these plastic gas cans because of the hurricanes that hit Louisiana. Because everybody was looking for gas cans to purchase, this model type was the only one available at the time.

    Your 5 gallon gas can
I just received 4 of your 5 gallon gas cans with the click feature on the spout. The click feature does not click for me. I tried all 4 cans, no luck on any of them. Read the instructions on the peel back label many times. Does the can have to have gas in it before click feature works?? So the can is useless for me if I can’t get gas to flow.

    Great customer service
One never is really sure about a company’s customer service until tested with a problem.

I had trouble with a Midwest 5-gallon can. There was a specific method for using the can, and because of a faulty can or a faulty user (me), I had a disaster in spilling gasoline all over the place. When I have trouble with a substantial company like Midwest, and I decide to never do business again, I let them know. In this case I sent an email and then went on about my business.

Midwest, in the person of NIck Wirth, followed on my complaint. Nick heard my story and expressed empathy for my situation. While he did not say the can I used was defective, he did inform me that the model I purchased was an older design, one that was superseded by later models. Nick said he would like for me to have the latest model. True to his word, a replacement can arrived.

I used it immediately to refresh the gas tank on my "new" 1952 MGTD. While MIdwest can't make 5 gallons of gasoline any lighter, they did provide a very effective can which even has an auto shutoff feature. I can say that not only did the can work well, I felt it was exceptional when the refill of gas did not spill a drop. For me, where a least a couple drops always escapes, zero drip was a miracle.

Thanks, Nick, for be part of a company that takes great pride in their products, and follows up with any complaint. I now see why every auto store I've been in carries Midwest as their exclusive gas can offering.
